Comparable RICE Power Plant Noise Study Liberty, Kentucky

This 2024 Burns & McDonnell study evaluates a proposed Kentucky power plant containing twelve Wärtsilä RICE engines. With designed noise controls, modeled plant sound at nearby residential receptors ranged from approximately 42 to 52 dBA.

This is not a Horse Creek prediction, but it shows the type and magnitude of residential noise that can be evaluated for a modern RICE facility and supports requesting project-specific noise modeling here.
