Horse Creek Road Preliminary RICE Noise Screening Map

This community-created map applies preliminary 35, 40, 45, 50 and 55 dBA screening contours to a conceptual approximately 95 MW RICE plant at the proposed Horse Creek site. The map expressly notes that the 40 dBA distance is approximately 2.5 miles before detailed terrain and meteorological effects are considered.

The screening suggests that sound from a RICE configuration could extend well beyond the generation property and into nearby residential areas, but it should not be treated as a prediction of actual Horse Creek noise. Its purpose is to identify the geographic scale that should be included in future professional baseline measurements and applicant acoustic modeling.
